A police officer was sat in his patrol car in a lay by on the A22 when he saw this car puttering along driven by a old lady, so he pulled her over to explain that going so slow can be a danger just as much as driving fast.
The old lady said I don't understand I was doing the correct speed for the road 22 mph, so the officer smiled and said ah I see, that is the name of the road not the speed limit.
He then said are your passengers OK they are white as a ghost and not said a word all the time I have been here, the old lady said yes I noticed that ever since I pulled of the A120
It's a nice try for a joke but in fact that A120 and A22 never meet so it doesn't really work for me. The A22 runs south from Purley whereas the A120 runs west-east from Puckeridge, merging with the A12 around the Colchester bypass before reforming and ending at Harwich. #missingthepoint
Someone sent the joke to me it made me smile, but it is a lot longer than i posted, i cut it down maybe it lost some impact. I live near The East Lancs Rd now that would be good it is the A580;)
I did smile at the original joke, though I've heard it before. I thought I'd just try to add a bit of ironic pedantry was all. Some people seem to have missed that, despite my also flagging it up at the end.
