Are you still allowed to sit your Driving Test in your own car if you have one? If so how do you about it?

Don't you just turn up in it?
...after all, a car's just a car, and I don't think that the tester would care whose car it was, as long as it's road legal.

I don't know gingejbee - I've always assumed you go with your instructor.
Thank you TheChair I will have a perusal of that link shortly

Very true bookbinder ;)
Of course, there is no requirement for a driving instructor to be involved at all. You can turn up in any car with your accompanying driver, as long as you are legal no problem.

I think once I get my car repaired and get back learning I'll be doing it in my car. I feel more comfortable in my car and more at ease too. Thank You TTT and everybody else too :)

if you are in your own car (which you have become accustomed to) then it must increase your chance of passing

good luck, sweetie
Be warned though there are theories of an Inhenerent prejudice against drivers who choose not to use the traditional instructor route to a licence. I have no knowledge of how true this is but I have heard that examiners feel more comfortable about passing someone if it is clear that they have been trained by a proper instructor, and turning up in one of their liveried up vehicles does tick that box. However on the other side a mate of mine passed many years ago with no lessons and in his own car with a double de clutch gear box!
Vehicles you can’t use

Some models of vehicle can’t be used for the test. This is because they don’t give the examiner all-round vision. They are generally convertible cars and panel vans.

You can’t use these cars for a driving test:

BMW Mini convertible
Ford KA convertible
Toyota iQ
VW Beetle convertible

Other types of convertible car or panel van may also be unsuitable.

Thank you Excel - since I last had a lesson my instructor has got a new car. I feel a lot more comfy and familiar in mine - even if I haven't been able to use it recently.

I've had plenty of proper training - thankfully but financially just now I couldn't justify booking the test, a lesson and the use of their car.

Phew I've got a Citroen C2 so I should be ok there Hopkirk :)
You could always ask your instructor to give you lessons in your car and accompany you to your test. He may say no but it's worth an ask.
