Has anyone had swine flu mildly - is that possible? We have had all the symptoms of swine flu, but although ill have not been THAT bad. I was waiting for it to get worse, but temperature never got alarmingly high, in any of us (two children and me). I was the worse. The flu symptoms, tiredness, aching limbs just dont seem to go away. (I have had it 5 days now - and we are over the worse)
My niece was diagnosed with suspected swine flu and had the tamiflu. Our symptoms are the same and still are. But her temperature was higher, hence the tamiflu.

My daughter had what she thought was Swine flu at the weekend, she felt excessively tired and achy, had a slightly raised temperature and mildly upset stomach. She stayed off work on Monday and felt marginally better. By Tuesday evening she was feeling more or less OK again. Today she is fine. I have to say that she is extremely fit and active and tiredness is always a sign of illness for her. So yes, it is possible to have it very mildly and 5 days is about right for the duration. I hope you all feel much better soon.
ihad the flu i was very hot for 2 days and took anadin my temp still didnt come down so took more.i had a head ache and sore throat.i fainted and bashed my head so my hubby called the ambulance they assisted to my dizziness and bump and said you will feel better in 5 days and sleep it off.all i did for 5 days was sleep.i did go to doc and got stronger painkillers for my throat.

Thanks for your help. We are still fairly poorly, too weak to leave the house. Pottering around and laying down watching DVDs. I am now beginning to think it has been fairly bad - although not as bad as that covered in the media. And certainly not as bad as I expected.
Maybe its just a common cold or normal flu. I guess these germs are still around and not every case with these symptoms will be swine flu.

But its nothing like a common cold.

The symptoms of swine flu are different to normal flu. The symptoms we have are that of swine flu; or possibly a virus linked to the swine flu; so seeming very much the same. But having posted my original letter, have heard of a number of other people that have had swine flu but not suffered severely, as the news coverage leads up to believe.

Maybe u would like to come and visit Boold and then u can catch it and judge for yourself whether its seems likely to be a common cold.

Anyway, am still feeling poorly on the 6th day, maybe it hasnt been as mild as I stated, it has gone on and on. And I am so looking forward to getting over it completely and getting out of the house, and seeing my friends and relatively (whom I have told to keep away).

Sorry Kassee, but Flu symptoms are the same as Swine flu, plus a heavy cold is always mistaken for Flu.

Last month I had what I thought was a bad cold - scratchy throat, headache, sneezy and very tired. After all the publicity came out, I think I prob had a mild case of swine flu, but didn't realise at the time.
It must affect different peolple in different ways.

Hazel999 is obviously a medical expert. Dont worry about the NHS website, cold, flu, its all the same.
I've just got over flu - but not of the swine flu variety. I was tested for it, but the results came back negative, even though I had the symptoms.
You know if you've had flu as opposed to just a bad cold, because it floors you. You go dizzy when you try to walk around, and feel like the pits. I felt poorly for 10-12 days, and now just have the remaining cough, but I'm sure I'll be fine again in another few days.
Hope you'll all be OK Kassee.

Why so rude to me? Just because I pointed out it might not have been swine flu?

If you are so sure that what you had was swine flu then so be it, but dont be rude when you ask a question and you do not like the answer! Maybe you took it the wrong way but I was trying to reassure you.
During that time, i was feeling really bad and was scared. Scared it probably the swine fine. Even my sister was scared. But i found out it wa a chest infection. i was relieved, but it lasted for 2 weeks straight.
