I have got a mini one sometimes and after driving 5 -10 miles both of the above warning lights come on. Sometimes when I turn the engine off the don't come back on and other times they will?

Has anyone any idea why they are coming on and what I can do. There is plenty of brake fluid and the car drives and brakes ok?

Could be an impending alternator failure. I had similar when mine failed.

Mini one on a 51 plate. Not sure what history is relevant. Done about 100K not sure when the next service is due it says in 10 K on the dial but service history from the book looks like it hasn't been serviced for about 30k?
The Brake light Switch is on your footbrake pedal, just check to see if it's loose, check the wire on the Brake pads.
I am going to go for ABS sensors on front disc.
Oh god I must be a steroid abuser -
I read this as Abs and handshake warning

[ abs is short for a muscle called rectus abdominis ]

I checked the sensor was properly attached to the footbrake and it seemed to be. As there are four sensors on the wheels is there a way to work out if its just one of them hats dodgy? The fact it takes a while for the lights to come on suggests somethings heats up and when I turn the engine off it cools and they don't come back on straight away, does this help identify where the issue is?
Hi, Re/ your last reply " Heating Up" I can not answer that but to check the Wheel Sensor Wire does not take above 1/2hrs by doing that will set your mind at rest & put them out.

I had it put on a diagnostic tester that said ecu internal error. It wasn't at BMW so its a bit vague as to the actual problem, has anyone any experience of sorting something like this out, or is this going to cost so much its over for the car?
