Hello all,

It's Shrove Tuesday which means we need to get rid of all the "sinful" food in our cupboards.

A quick straw pole at AB towers has revealed our favourite toppings include:

Lemon juice and sugar - a simple yet classic combination of sweet and sour.

Bacon, maple syrup and mascarpone - different and with a modern twist.

So we would love to hear your favourite pancake toppings, plus any funny pancake related stories :-)

Don't care what she puts in them because the daughter is making them and I don't have to. Yippee!

No, I'm having instant coffee...No old beans to grind:)
Wot Nescafe !.
Or a Yorkshire pudding is a puffed up pancake.
Both have a place in the heritage of British food.
I had to go and check. Yes, Tasters' Choice by Nescafe. But right now I'm sampling that aforementioned Red Bull:)
That is correct, Daisy.

Good man, stuey.

Thank you for all your answers :-)

I think I have to agree with the majority and go for the classic lemon juice and sugar, although others in the household plumped for just sugar, nutella, butter, syrup and cream and finally cream and nutella!!!

Yes the inventor of nutella did die recently apparently he was a rich man!

Is there a drink beer day, Ed ?.
Question Author
Yes, tony, it seems there is.

Unfortunately, you will have to wait until September :-(

I suggest you start getting in some practice right now :-)

Thank you Ed, I'll write that in my diary. I practice all year round ;-)
March 14th is worthy of a diary entry too......
Give us a clue to why, Eccles ?.
Where's the fun in that Tony?
Tonyav: EcclesCake just can't say because it's a little rude!
That is the more cerebral way of marking the day Baldric.

I was thinking about steak and something for afters ;-)
Ohhhh it's that day then ;-).
