Think it maybe flu like, has a tight chests, hurts bad when coughs, temp is 101.7, paracetomol given 4hrs apart, trying to get him to eat, only had a slice of toast, and again trying to get fliulds into him, he is asthmatic as well have been giving him his inhaler through his aerochamber, to try and open his airways(4puffs) 3hrs apart,(breathing isn't to bad) My question is is there anything else I could to help him. Thanks very much.

Tight chest and a high temperature, I'd suggest speaking to NHS Direct - call 111.
In hospital, that temperature would score and would be dealt with by use of paracetamol. You've been giving him paracetamol and it's still not lowering his body temp. My next question is; how reliable is your thermometre?
No, I think that you are dealing with the situation admirably.

It certainly sounds like flu.

As he is asthmatic, watch his breathing over the next 24 hours.
I've recently had 'flu and it was followed by horrible bronchitis - hurt when I coughed and I'm still clearing it 2 weeks later. Sounds as if you are doing all you can apart from perhaps Vick on his chest and back? It helped me. I'm mildly asthmatic and needed to use inhaler.
