Well, with the festive period and the shortest day well behind us now, the seed catalogues are starting to hit the door mat.

What are your plans for the garden ?

For flowers, im doing all tuberous Begonias for my tubs and baskets. They are just the most spectacular flowers and so easy to grow. They tolerate dry, they don't need constant dead heading and come in all colours except blue. The trailing ones, especially apricot shades just light any garden up

As for the veg...im cutting right down this year. I had 11 courgette plants on the allotment last year and was picking up to 20 a day. Same with runner beans.
I shall just grow one variety of things too....all the runner beans, courgettes, peas, sweetcorn etc really tastes all the same whatever variety you chose.

I will grow 3 types of tomatoe in the greenhouse....Shirley, Ilde and sweet aperitiff are the chose ones and maybe a few types of chilli too.

Can't wait to get started, chillis will be sown soon followed by Toms in Feb.

Well...glad you all appreciated that
I do now but didn't see it in the sub-topics! I'll probably do the same as usual - violas in the window boxes and hanging baskets, morning glory in a tub and trailing surfinias in a couple more. Probably some pelargoniums. Might dig up my 2 show dahlias as they take up so much room and only produce about 5 massive flowers each and even then not until well into September. I don't do vegetables but might pick up some floral tips from any subsequent postings.
