Hi waimarie - if you want to get a few dozen cases of the Barolo, the advice from wineontheweb.co.uk site for the 2000 vintage from Lidl is 'hold' and their vintage chart is at 97% for the 2000 - as good as it gets really, so lay it down now and enjoy in your dotage....

Grazie mille nickmo, that's a great site for quick reference. This could be a sort of bequest and I know a couple of people who would appreciate the thought. The memsahib bought me a 1989 Chateau Mouton Rothschild for our ruby wedding anniversary in 1996, I managed to outlast that and what a beauty it was, well worth laying down for those extra years (the wine, I mean). Cheers.
