Where if you have one is it situated ? The 22 year old step-son has bought one and it taken up residence in the sitting room alongside the tv. He does have a monitor in his bedroom but the family tv is bigger. The type of things he plays are shooting games and the language is kind of ripe when he plays. He says the house should be used by us all equally as he pays rent, I say *** that, he should keep the damn thing upstairs !! Thoughts people ??

We have three and none are attached to the family tv, if he has the ability to play it elsewhere then I think he should.
He should have it in his room.
We actually have two each of Xbox 360 and PS3, one of each in the lounge for my oh and our son has his own in his bedroom.
Well, if everyone in the house is free to do their own thing in any part of it, try taking a dump in his bedroom ;-)

Chris, I think I love you !
Our 22 year old basically lives in his room, comes down to eat tea with us and a quick chat then back to gaming. He works hard and bought himself 2 2nd hand tv's, 26 inch and one huge one for gaming.
There is no way I'd have someone gaming in the living room, especially the games they play.
We do play the WII with the grandkids, in the living room, but at least that is family friendly.
Can he not buy a bigger TV?
Flump....I'm with Chris....and extend it...take your meals up to his room... do the ironing in there.....lie on his bed with the phone to chat to your friends....

When you can't sleep...and he is....take your radio and knitting in there....xx
Unless the whole household is "allowed" to play on it too (and want to) he should keep it in his room. What happens if someone wants to watch tv while he's gaming?

Flump if he needs a larger screen to enjoy his gaming, then tell him to buy one for his room. Or do it democratically as he thinks as he pays rent and he can do what he wants, have a vote as to whether his gaming is ok in family room, that's what would happen if he lived in a "truly" shared house

Gness, Chris made me laugh with his suggestion of ' taking a dump ' in the boy's bedroom. The trouble is, his room is so very toxic, I will not go in there, even to do that ! It would never be found !
Ours in in the living room only because it is rarely played. We use it to watch netflixs etc...
