I'm going to get a new tv in the New Year and was thinking about a Sony smart tv, the reviews seem quiet good and its a reasonable price, has anybody got one of these TV's? I would appreciate any thoughts about Sony TV's or any smart TV's that ABers are using. Thanks in advance.

We bought a Samsung a couple of weeks ago and are quite satisfied. Apparently from the mouth of "someone in the know " South Korean technology with TVs are the best in the world. Just don't say that in rom of my OH ( Japanese )

Question: Do you actually need a new TV, or just a smart TV? If you only need the 'smart' bit, save your money and get one of these:

It's got more apps than most smart TVs (I'm using the TuneIn app on mine, for internet radio, as I'm typing) plus the option of getting some extra TV channels cheaply (such as Gold, Sky 1, Sky Arts 1, Comedy Central, etc) without needing a satellite or cable subscription. Mine cost £16 from Asda, including 3 months access to the 'Entertainment Package'.
I've had a Sony Bravia for several years and no problems. The built in BBC iPlayer was used regularly until Sky included it in their package. There's also Netflix included in mine.
