Don't panic! What you are doing should work no problem
Just add a small amount of water to it and a squeeze of lemon juice if you have it to hand and you should be fine ;-)
Do you have any mango chutney hiding in your cupboard? I've used it in such emergencies, and it is lovely!
what sort of apple, how sweet...if a cooking apple, it may also require a little sugar, a drizzle of honey or maple syrup works....
its sounds delicious.
or any chutney - a damson one - yum, or redcurrant jelly......

Thanks guys. Thank goodness I had that apple lurking in the fridge drawer. I think I will blitz when it's cooked. Happy Sunday everyone!
Like the other posters have said...a bit of water and lemon if you have it, not essential though, imo.
Fresh apple sounds much better than anything from a jar. If you had several apples,I'd say don't cook them down too much...leave them with some shape.
