Iphones Unlocked?

I've just got a iPhone 4 and put a giffgaf SIM card in it, I can text make calls ect but screen still says O2 in corner, and I've just found out that giffgaff is part of O2, so is my phone unlocked to any network as want to go to Virgin or is it still locked to O2?

A Giff Gaff card will work in a phone that is locked to O2. The only way you can tell is to try a Virgin Sim Card. Can you borrow one or get a Pay as you go one?

If you purchased your phone from the Apple Store you can put whatever SIM card you like in it or choose whichever network you want. If you bought a contract it is that provider.
