All the crew were getting possessed by the dead they wr going to bomb somewhere in Russia - David Jason's character managed to get the other old chap to 'shake out of it' and they both sabotaged the sub so the crew would have to abandon ship and also the missiles so they would backfire. The captain was still mad as a fruit cake and didn't want them to abandon ship but they managed to get everyone off except the mad captain. David Jason went back and had a confrontation with the captain - but he fired the missiles and sadly the captain and David Jason both went down with the sub. David Jason went back to his cabin and found the picture of his wartime sweetheart and the cabin filled up with water - it was really touching.

Later the bigwig Navy blokes where having a meeting like they did at the beginning and they had a picture of the sunken sub and it appeared it had been there for the 40 years and that it had never resurfaced - they and the Russian 'Navy' both agreed that the incident had never happened.

Very spooky.
