I have just renewed my car insurance and have noticed on the policy documents they have the number of years I have held a licence as 11, it is actually 17. (I was with the same insurance company last year as just double checked docs and they have it as 10 years..whoops!). I know I should really phone them up tomorrow and advise them ( but it's always a hassle on hold for ages), but does it really matter or could they decide at a later stage they haven't got the correct info and invalidate my policy?

I'm not sure but I thought they stopped recording it once it got to 10 years and plus ie it stays at 10. I may be wrong.

Thanks for your reply Prudie. That's what I thought and probably why I didn't think it was unusual last years policy said 10 years. I have just checked on main website and maximum you can put in is 10+ years.
Look carefully it probably says 10 years or over.
I have had a full licence for 43 years but on insurance forms it is '10 years or over'

Thanks Eddie51. I've just double checked and it states licence held 11 years.

The earliest date on my driving licence is 16.10.75
I know I passed my driving test in January 1965 because I've still got the little red book.
