Now my next question.

Anybody out there have got dental implants and have they been a success.

I have mentioned I am due 7 extractions 3 at the back of the mouth and 4 at front of mouth.

Will be having dental implants along with other treatment eg bone strengthening etc. Am very very nervous. I know I am down the line but was wondering should I also think of top and bottom completely out with falsies. Also it is very very expensive.

The second scenario is that if I accept the implants - I will be still seeing dentist from time to time re the rest of my natural teeth so is it worth all that and more. Thanks for any replies.

Well here's from the from the horses mouth. Had a wee rest in the bed so mouth does feel swelled - naturally enough - and they had time of day to me not like NH dentists where we were shepherded in like sheep within a timeline - more half a clock but there in private there was relaxed an easygoingness of the day which I liked.

I said to her that I wasn't happy her pulling a tooth that I thought was good - afterwards she she showed me the tooth YUK - breaking down - all brown and green and the green was the start of an abscess. So she knew what she is doing.

Next I should be getting 4 front teeth and between dentures and making up of mine re implants I will have several months. Yee Ha over the first round. Will be bankrupt only joking but I am so worth it. There ya goes my experience of today. JjCon (the bloody Con) LOL
well done you, glad it was relaxing (well, as relaxing as dentistry gets). Shame about the waiting, I am starting to paw the ground now, but you're quite right, you're worth it and being able to eat is worth it.

FAO Jennyjoan,

Well done JJ - Hope you are feeling pleased with yourself now you have survived the first session. Keep up the good work. Your dentist sounds nice and it's good that you have faith in her. I went today to discuss payment for my treatment (gulp) but feel it will be worthwhile. My poor mum spent years plastering fixative to her dentures and was utterly miserable with it. Look forward to reading of your progress.
