I find it hard to understand the attraction behind drugs, mabe as i've never taken tem myself....
but is it down to peer pressure that starts ppl off, or maybe a way to escape reality or problems, or is it just sheer recklessness on the person's part?

After a point, the drug addict must come to know that the drugs are not giving them the rush like before, just making everything worse..... why dont these people seek help or go t rehab? If they know they need to do this, what's stopping them??

Until youve walked in someones shoes , you should not ask this, Many people who have addictions have bad bad problems in life, im speaking from personal experience .I am now clean and sober these many years through sheer determination and bloody mindedness
who are you reffering to?
Ive just realised you must be referring to me!

its not my fault your a weak minded individual that doesn't know when to say no!

I live life as much as i can, I have a good job- am well on my way to passing work related exams that i do off my own back to gain promotion i have numerous hobbies such as keep fit and kayaking ive been travelling round europe this year and intend to go next year i live life as much as i can and am very happy for it thank you very much.
if i decide to do this it aint because i need to or feel like i need any escape from reality in any way shape or form. ive done research (as much as anyone can) and i dont feel that it is any more harmful than alcohol is (or are you addicted to that to and dont like me talking about that either?) ive never smoked in my life either.

Dont you dare come on here and start questioning me or my motives!

Taking alcohol might seem like a good time to you but to me its just a waste of money coz it tastes like ****. Also, wow, getting drunk and sleeping around or making a complete fool of yourself is not my idea of fun.... losing your inhibitions and mind temporarily isn't something I'd enjoy coz you lose control and those around you (not as drunk as you) are in control of you from that point on.

As for drugs, people with nothing to look forward to, or aspire to are the most likely candidates for this sh*t habit. I have often thought about it and what I'd do if I came into contact with it but if I can say no to alcohol and cigarettes and not feel like i'm missing out, I wouldnt even blink when offered drugs by some loser on the street.
but jsut so you know drugs have been taken for centuries by people from all walks of life! Th ere is a religious group in america that are actually allowed to take an illegal drug as part of their religion! the up. per classes used to use nitrous regularly i think in the 19th century. i just dont think a lot of drugs are as harmful as people think. alcohol by all rights should be banned in america. They banned ecstasy because it was a drug that had no medicinal purposes well if that doesnt describe alcohol?
What does it mean to take drugs for recreational purposes, I thought recreation meant a hobby or passtime, I'm confused !!
Recreational is more like an occasional thing, maybe at weekends only or something like that........as opposed to taking them every single day/being an addict.
