The Daily Telegraph has featured a reflector telescope for the past couple of months (Zennox 76x700), reduced from £250 to £70. I have looked at some reviews online - sone people say that this model is not worth the money, others say the opposite (of course!)
I am thinking of buying this as a present for my wife who has a passing interest in astronomy, as opposed to being an avid sky-watcher.
Q: would this suffice as an easy-to-use, functional (without being of use to an expert, but good for an enthusiastic amateur) device, at a decent price?
Any views, opinions gratefully received as for cost v value v usability.

Sounds a reasonable price if it comes with an equatorial mount but the money would be better spent on a decent pair of binoculars. You would have difficulty making out the bands on jupiter. A minimum of 120mm reflector diameter would be necessary IMO you can get one of these for just over £100 much more value and more useful.
Sir PM's advice still holds good as well:
