Bit uncertain about final one 40dn (Had) started (5) B?G?N begun or began. Any thoughts please?

Must be began
We read it differently bhg.
Interestingly, when I put them into Word grammar check, neither comes out wrong, so it's anybody's guess.
It's the 'Had'that's making me think 'Begun'


We wouldn't say 'Had began'

Yes - yet another of these either/or ones, damn. Think I'll go with Begun. Thanks for your suggestions folks.
I've changed my mind - best answer to Mamyalynne.
Began is the past verb and begun is the past particle:- I had began doing
I haven't yet begun.
