Im researching a tree for Stephen Reynolds b1967 Bridlington. he knows his father, Leslie, came from Norfolk and his mothers maiden name was Chapman. I went completely down the wrong road for Leslie V Reynolds who married Cherry A Chapman but then on checking the Bridlington electoral rolls, found Leslie G Reynolds and Ivy M Reynolds. Cannot find a marriage. There is a Leslie Geo Reynolds b 1908. On 1911 census Ancestry shows him as son to Jane & George b1846 but FMP shows him as grandson. Does anyone have baptism records for Norfolk to be able to confirm his parents without having to send for cert. Thank you

Does Stephen know his mother's name, if not Cherry? Does he think his grandad was a Leslie too? On the original document for the 1911 census it says grandson for 3 year old Leslie but the transcription says son so that's a mistake - so that particular Leslie is a grandson of a George and Jane. Name: Leslie G Reynolds married Spouse: Ivy Rowe Date of Registration:...

Name: Leslie G Reynolds married
Spouse: Ivy Rowe
Date of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar 1932
Registration district: Bridlington
Inferred County: Yorkshire East Riding
Volume Number: 9d
Page Number: 624

Are you thinking that Stephen's grandparents came from Bridlington, like him, even though his dad was from Norfolk?

Thanks carrott99. Im getting confused with the whole tree TBH. He doesnt seem to remember his mothers first name but knows its Chapman which is what is stated on his birth records but the marriage of Ivy Rowe seems to make sense. I shall look into what youve found more closely. Thanks very much. x
