..............."for a bigger set of balls": this quote from "Die Hard 4" I found in a serious German book on politics. A Canadian friend then taught me the U.S. expression "Get a pair". Can anyone tell me (I've been cut off from the UK mainstream for decades, so I'm just too innocent at 70)what would we say in Britain nowadays in (somewhat vulgar) slang with the same meaning???!!!

Usually we copy the American expression with "Grow a pair"

Thank you, Danny: that's a start! Obviously I've lived abroad too long. Any other offers?
In English the phrase 'dig deep' is usually heard at fundraising events with the meaning dig deep into one's pockets to contribute generously.

OK, Obiter --- but that was clearly not the meaning here! Actually it was quoted by the author (with the remark that it was impossible to translate)to
suggest that journalists who view the Wikileaks scandal from a purely legal point of view are just cowards. Right?
