When I use my laptop keyboard to write anything which spans several sentences I often look up to find that the cursor has 'jumped' to a completely different part of the text. So the newest part of my writing is embedded in the older part.It is irritating in the extreme.I cant work out what is happening as it doesnt seem to be 1 particular keystroke which is doing this.I dont have any problems with my Pc so its not just my typing skills. It is running win98.

Banana we seem to share the same problem. I am using a laptop and more often than not the cursor jumps to another location after I type the letter "y"......it is baffling ...I posted here a couple of months ago but no one came up with an answer!!!!!

Comforting to know Im not alone. Y eh? Ill try it out - but of course you know that any attempt at trying to sort it out will result in failure -gah!
I have heard this problem before, I'm assuming you have a laptop with one of those little pad mouse things. And thats your problem, the little pad thing can be a bit sensitive. not sure what you can do about it.
Same problem here too! When you type your thumbs brush against the touchpad it and yank the cursor around. I fixed it by plugging in a mouse, it disables the touchpad.

Of, course we should all be touch typists and watch the screen instead of our fingers. I'm told yuo gte mich butter spellinf and less typos.
