Been given an MOT advisory to buy 4 new tyres. Size is 205/60/16R/92H. Looking for a mid range tyre, but can't believe how expensive they are. Cheapest price given is for a brand manufactured by Bridgestone @ £71.00 each. Any tips, advice or places to try?

Have a look at this, it may be useful for you.
Looks about right to me unfortunately.

Try this company - they were competitive last time I needed tyres.

(You may find an online voucher code for an extra 5% off too)

£62.70 including fitting, valve, balance and disposal of old tyre.

Runway £58 fitted etc. My son has used this company and is very pleased with them.
I second sunny-dave: I've used Formula One autocentres several times in the past and have always been happy with them.
Find any on-line tyre price and they will match and give you 10% of the difference - so will always be the cheapest.
I've used their "price match guarantee" on a few occasions and it works easily.
'A brand manufactured by Bridgestone'

Not Bridgestones then. Personally I wouldn't buy anything that didn't have a well known manufacturer's name on them. Don't economise on tyres.

Try this site, and note that some of them have 10% off if you buy 4.

Bridgestone. Japanese Dunlops as we used to call them in my biking days.
Price about right. I have bought similar size" budgets" but 17" for my car for £50 each. Have lasted over 12 months normal driving.
///Have lasted over 12 months normal driving.///

Not good then, I expect 3yrs and 25-30000mls out of my tyres
Michelins, btw ^^^^^
Well known manufacturers name? My brand new car had brand name I have never heard of and are now 2 years old coming up for 20k miles, one has even been puncture repaired. I once was a brand snob but in these austere times things change.
Would the Advisors be K.F. By any chance Darbo?
Budget tyres Baldrick. If I spent £ 120 each + on Pirellis, Avons, Goodyear I would want them to last 3 years.lol
"last over 12 months" I change them well before the min tread depth. £200 every 14/16 months is not bad.
If you live anywhere near Alfreton, Derbyshire try Onlineperformancetyres. He stocks the whole range, budget to top names, all at competitive prices.
If you plan to keep the car and you dont intend to race or rally it then my top 3 would be 1.Michelin..2. Michelin..3. Michelin.....up to 60k miles on a set.
