I'm having to siphon a tank full of petrol out of Mother in law's car to put in her new one.

Tried a length of hose but ended up drinking more than I siphoned!

I bought a siphon pump which is 2 length of hose with a one-way valve in the middle. You squeeze this rubber rugby ball shaped thing and its meant to flow. Although it doesn't for me.

The jerry can I'm hoping to siphon into is lower than the valve. How much of the hose should be submerged into the fuel? Does it matter if its too deep, too shallow? I must be doing something wrong!

when you hear the pipe in the tank, keep pumping the Ball It should draw it up, regards Sucking the Fuel up, you should be able to Suck & drop the pipe into your container, when doing this make sure you are below the height of the filler.
