I am considering changing my suppliers from Southern Elec and British Gas to NPower. Can anyone tell me if there are any reasons I should stick with my original suppliers, ie service - is the gas or elect likely to cut out?

It certainly pays to shop around for cheaper energy. Its simple to change to a new supplier. There will be no interuption of supply of either gas or electricity. Try www.uswitch.com you will be given the cheapest supplier for your particular area.

Have gone through this process in England and Scotland, where we now live and had no problems at all.

I really dont think you need to worry about your gas and electricity cutting out.

You can make big savings by taking a duel fuel deal from a single supplier.

I personally went with The Utilities Warehouse, for Gas, Electricity, Mobile, Fixed Line phone rental and call tariff AND broadband, and its saved me a packet, plus I get a single multi utility bill, and great customer service.

My own view is it ain't broke, don't break it. I found that out when I switched from BT to cable and encountered the worst phone service ever. Price may be an issue, but let's face it, they are all gonna be roughly the same. As an alternative to a complete change, why not see what can be done just moving one supplier that you have to the other.
