What a stupid reporter on BBC TV News just now, on the school dinners article. Interviewing a small boy, he said he liked everything about school dinners - the reporter said "what, even cabbage and carrots?" The boy replied "Yes" and the silly woman responded "Well, I don't think so!" Calling him a fibber on national television - how about that the boy LIKED vegetables, you daft bat? Grrr!

Not at six, peter. That remark was really inappropriate.
You really are a ridiculous man!!

People say they despair of the youth of today - if you think you are setting an example then lord help them.
Yes, Peter - so you can cast remarks like that about on a thread about school dinners?

Just who are you trying to impress or shock?
Gotcha Baldric - the 'nit' typo lol

Urgh, the only time I had to stay behind for not eating my pudding was tapioca-related :-(
I'd be mighty displeased if I was the boy's mum or dad. People think they can say anything to kids.
Broccoli is popular in this house and my celery soup goes down well.
I loved school dinners!
The trouble with celery is that when I was young it was white with yellow flowers and had a delicate taste. Today it is green and bitter. Is it possible to get white celery anymore?
might be partly your taste buds, Obiter, I think the bitter ones develop after childhood so you'd notice it more than you used to. But yes, lost of food has changed over the years.
