Changing the fuse just corrects the symptom, you need to correct what the cause.

I suspect a leak causing issues with the electrics, but it could be any of a number of things. Get the washing machine fixed/replaced.
Get washing machine checked, possibly leaking. Also check you are using correct fuse value.
Diesel, If you can, take out the washing machine plug & check the wires within the plug, one of the 2 / 3 wires may be loose.
What exactly is tripping?

Is it one of the line of MCBs in your consumer unit (fusebox), marked either 32A or 16A, or is it the bigger device marked RCB. Or have you really really got old style fuses.

when i put washing machine onto on switch on wall it will light the switch up, then i press on switch on machine then the light will go on, then i will press start and the machine trips out, lights go off and it trips the junction box.

dont really want to buy a new machine, i have now pulled machine away from wall and i will insert a new 13amp fuse into plug plus check wires are fitted snuggly. cannot see any leaks

thanks
Dick, you still haven't said just what is tripping. Junction boxes don't trip.
Do you mean the Consumer nit (fuseboard)
haha .......... ^^^ Consumer Unit

hello
yes , the switch in the unit where all the fuses are kept ( fuse box ) trips.
I guess it's the RCD then. Not the individual circuit breaker (or fuse) for that particular circuit.

This would suggest an earth leakage fault. Something that washing machines are quite well-known for.

If it were an individual circuit breaker, then that would suggest a possible short-circuit fault in the machine. Quite different from an earth fault. Either way, the machine does sound to be the problem.
Indeed. As it only goes when you press 'go' then it has to be a washing machine issue IMO. Go get it checked and an estimate for repair. It may be something small. Worst comes to worst it's a replacement job.
many machines have a safety cut out under the drum, above a drip tray, so if it leaks in any way (ie split hose)as the tray fills it cuts out so it doesnt carry on pumping water..works on a float system.
So just could be a leak not an electrical issue....
