I tried to transfer some money from Lloyds to the Post Office online and was not successful. In the end I went to Lloyds local branch. They were very helpful and waived the charge because of the trouble I had had. The charge was, as Chris said, £30. In my opinion quite a large chunk of money for something which should be free. As I pointed out to the teller, I could have lunch in Wetherspoons four times for that amount. Drinks extra!
Eddie, I can't agree with that - although I mainly do on-line banking, I have cheque books, I still use them from time to time. Ideal in a situation like this.
It seems like a lifetime ago that when I wanted cash I had to go to the bank and cash a cheque, yet it is less than 30 years.
