Who was the first modern ruler of England? I say England because here at home we're split between Henry 7 and Oliver Cromwell.

What does modern mean?

Edward VII is regarded as the first true constitutional monarch, which is the system we have today - so thats quite modern.

have they had one yet? mjd is right, it all depends what you mean by modern.
Sounds like a pub quiz question that's dying to start an argument!
