Why Are So Many People On This Site So Anti-Jehovah Witness?

Yesterday, I was out walking when I noticed a lot of people around the estate. They were Jehovah's Witnesses. Having engaged in conversation I had a leaflet advertising a website JW.Org. From the conversation I found them to be polite, happy and they made no attempt to convert me. They didn't even ask where I lived or my name, they were quite happy to just stand and talk.

Ha ha Sandyroe! Leaflets were filed away - for recycling....
Ah, I see you meant the leaflets. ;-)
I didnt know if it was tongue in cheek but it was a tad ambiguous on my part! o:)

[naomi24] I really don’t understand why people who proclaim such surety in their religion are so very reluctant to divulge the specific brand. | [ludwig] It's because deep down there's a tiny nugget of sense left that knows it's *** stupid and doesn't want to have to answer any difficult questions about it."

I couldn't agree more. Absolutely *** spot on.
idiosyncrasy, I would very much like a response from you. On one thread you declare that your church does a lot for charity in many different ways, and on another you say that you don't belong to, or attend, any church. An explanation for those two entirely contradictory claims would be good.

Naomi@ I don't come on this site very often and certainly not every day so sometimes you may have to wait for a response for me.

Your question re church.

What is a church? A group of people gathered together for a particular purpose or activity.

I don't attend a church as in a building. But I belong to an organisation that is non denominational, of which there are many. So perhaps I used the wrong word is saying "my church", perhaps I should have said "the organisation/society to which I belong".

We are a group of people who worship God and gather together whether in a home or another building to worship, we have been known to meet out in the open.

///People ask it sadly when war, disaster, disease, or crime takes their innocent loved ones, destroys their home, or brings them untold suffering in other ways///
idiosyncrasy, does this 'group' have a name?
I don't like anyone to bang on my front door without an invitation. It's rude, wastes my time and interrupts whatever I'm doing.

In the same way, I don't like peope clogging up the Answerbank board with transparent propaganda posts.

As Pope of the First Church of Answerbank ( Ab Editor be praised ), all such persons are excommunicated, and anathema is pronounced on them ho ho so there
Venator: I genuflect with thee at the high altar of lunacy, superfluousness. redundancy, and superfluity.

Forgive us our stultiloquence, as we forgive those who defecated upon us. And lead us not into Quora, but deliver us from pomposity, as we forgive those who micturated upon us.

Amen

Any form of worship is an extremely unsavory practice. It reeks of abrogation of responsibility.
Just to save idio some typing…
