10 and -30 ?
Question Author
Thank You So Much ladyalex :D
If you use simple algebra to solve this type of question then you would be less reliant on a site like this in future:-

x+y = -20=> y = -20 - x = -(20+x)

xy = -x(20+x) = -300 => x^2 + 20x = 300 => x^2 + 20x - 300 = 0 => (x-10)(x+30) = 0

therefore EITHER x = 10, y = -30 OR x = -30, y = 10

i.e. the two numbers are 10 and -30
The american Math rather than Maths really grates on me - just thought I'd mention it.
