fasciola can rarely infect Man - the usual fluke is schistosoma

and clonorchis sinensis can be a problem in not surprisingly China
I just thought I would tell you....
I always thought founder was the old fashioned word for laminitis
Question Author
The answer is MEGRIM(S). This fits perfectly with the clue
Thanks for the feedback. There was no way that I would ever have found that answer. Did you manage to find it yourself?

Question Author
I found it my endless comparison of lists of fish and disease in cattle and horses. Many thanks for spending the time
Thanks for the feedback - Megrims is a condition (usually in older harness horses) which causes them to twitch, shake their head and possibly stagger etc - it's not a word I've heard in years and years - think we just say head shaking now. Brilliant bit of detective work there gordontrigg.
Is a stagger a fish though, Baldric? I can't see one of that name
I just put it in as a point of interest, the word 'flounder' is in this definition of 'stagger'
What do you think?
verb: stagger; 3rd person present: staggers; past tense: staggered; past participle: staggered; gerund or present participle: staggering
1. walk or move unsteadily, as if about to fall.
"he staggered to his feet, swaying a little"
synonyms: lurch, walk unsteadily, reel, sway, teeter, totter, stumble, wobble, move clumsily, weave, FLOUNDER, falter, pitch, roll

I thought you'd got another great answer then Baldric when I saw a horse disease called flounders but someone then corrected the post to say it was actually called FOUNDERS

I'm thinking someone saw flounder and thought 'fish'
