Hawker Dragonfly Nymph....but Which One?

I saw this at the early part of last month but haven't been able to positively identify it. I think it's a brown hawker but I'm not convinced.
I didn't notice until I got home and checked the picture that it seems the dragonfly is actually starting to emerge, it looks like the middle of the back has started to split

Should have mentioned, this about 1½ to 2 inches long

I can't tell if it's a brown hawker or a southern hawker from photo, but it's definitely one or the other. I lean slightly towards a brown hawker. See both types round here as I live right near a river.

I think that is the choice Viv. Wish I had noticed the split and waited for it to emerge
