How can you blame the bridge designer? This is an unusual load, not what anyone might have envisaged. I blame the transport company - very poor planning. Poor giraffes.

Stupid lorry driver.
Oh, I wish I hadn't seen that!
It turned my stomach and upset me. What does that mean?
Anger, Poor animal, had to wait several hours whilst the lorry was being repaired before getting any help. Some idiot people out there
Poor giraffe
Why not via train where the animal could have lay down ?
Given the obvious height of a Giraffe you would think that they would have planned the route to avoid this type of accident. Not at all professional or caring.

The poor animals - I am surprised that the other one survived.

Usually there are two sides to every story plus the truth = three sides. I can't really see what excuse they churn out as to why it was the fault of the bridge.

Interesting.
So far, most respondents are compassionate animal lovers.
There's an exception that blames the driver.
Surprisingly, no engineers to condemn the designer of the bridge.
I do blame the drive, plowter. But I also feel sorry for the poor giraffes.
As somebody who's worked in the road haulage industry for 40 years, I'd condemn the driver and his employer both. Wolf63 is right on the button.
I think the 'feeling' reaction you get is automatically to think of the animals welfare, but then the secondary, almost simultaneous reaction is the 'blame' factor on the idiot driving who should have know his route and his load better considering the preciousness of the cargo.
whoever arranged the transport, without checking bridge heights .
Y didnt the photographer alert the trucker ?
