Something within your budget, for the new baby.... first size babygrows, hand knitted cardi and boots, etc. always go down well.

Personally, I really think baby showers are a bit of a racket, I've never gone to one - another import from the States!
It's probably wise to buy something that won't matter if it's doubled up on. Don't want too many photo albums etc....and you can get some quite ordinary and useful things that are prettily gift wrapped or boxed to make them look really....gifty......☺
Basically, anything suitable for a newborn, or a baby from 3 - 6 months, in case it is a large baby. Any kind of clothing, blankets, pram toys, or maybe a keepsake such as a baby photograph album. As boxtops says, it is important to keep within your budget, and not feel you need to spend more than you can afford. I don't like baby showers, either. If a person wants to give a gift, they can do so of their own free will, without being coerced into going and giving just because everyone else is.
?Baby shower gel.
groan.
What you groaning at.....it's fun...another excuse for a girl's get together with nibbles and wine....and scare the mum to be with pregnancy tales...x
Has boxy say's baby grows, can't go wrong there. Always useful.
gness... I think that tony is "groaning" at my reply.
I was groaning at sqad's errrrrrrm joke, gness.
I realised after I posted, Sqad.....I missed your post....how could I miss you of all people????...:-(
tony.....LOL......I think that it is a meeting of women of the area and the object is, to guess who the father is...........it may take a bit of time.
Sqaddie, LOL
sqad, I think your getting confused with the customers on the Jeremy Kyle show ;-)
Vodie, are dropping an hint here ?.
i dont like baby showers that are planned, its almost like 'hey buy me a present'. my sis held a surprise one for me which was such a shock i almost had the baby lol. i didnt get presents as they gave me gifts once he was born but we had games and lots of cake :-)
I'm with Boxie in that these are a racket aimed at yet more consumerism. But if you would like to get the prospective mum something always useful, a packet of cotton muslins, baby wipes, and first size nappies is always useful.
Or you could pledge to come and do night time / twilight duty while the dear new parents realise what's happened.
don't buy clothing for 0 to 6 months, everyone does. be different. buy mum to be some nice shower/bath products and a bottle of wine .
