This is only about a fiver and is to do with a refund to be made by an eBay seller for a minor fault.

Leaving aside that it may be that the matter should go through eBay, can anybody see any disadvantage in disclosing my Paypal details to seller, described by him as 'your Paypal e-mail address'.

Seller needs the email address you use for your Paypal account to enable him to send your refund. He'll have no access to your Paypal account.
^^^he doesn't need your password, just the email address you use for Paypal.
never give out passwords to anyone.
use your password like your toothbrush.
As others say, all you need to pass on is your email address - PayPal do the rest behind the scenes. However - there shouldn't be a need to do this. If I need to give a refund on an eBay transaction, all I have to do is go to the PayPal transaction in my account, click "Details" and there is an option to give a full or part refund on that transaction - nobody needs to enter any more details. I'd prefer to do it that way, but if you don't want to, just give him your email address.
if they are sending a full refund they can do what boxtops has posted if they are sending a part refund just send then your paypal email adddy
DrF - I do part refunds that way too, you just amend the amount in the transaction value box (I often do that if I've overstated the P&P, give them some back).
ebay will not let you put your paypal / email details on ebay messages.
They think you are trying to bypass ebay so they don't get their cut.
Do as suggested and do a part refund by clicking on 'details' on the paypal transaction.
Tip, if you do want to give your paypal details via ebay messages do as I do and send them photo of your paypal name typed or written on a bit of paper. Works every time, paypal / ebay have not found out about this yet.
its only your email address, all they can do with it is put money in your account.
the other thing you can do is send each part of the email in a separate message, miss out the @ as ebay will pick this up, if you put atsymbolgoeshere in a message it gets through.
Not that I have ever, would ever do this nononono
