I just looked online at the Eurostar summer offer for children to travel for just £1 each way.. went into the booking form to select 2 adults and 2 children, and there it says Adults (12yr+) Children (4-11yrs)
It's just wrong!! My daughter is 12, a child, not an adult.... why are companies allowed to class children as adults when it comes to fares/tickets. It should not be allowed. A child does not work and earn money to pay a full adult price!!

A lot of places charge adult prices for 12+, not just Eurostar - entry to attractions is frequently 12+, because the teenager is as big as an adult and takes up as much room.
Same with dogs on the Eurotunnel - upto nine people free, each dog £16 each way.
Ok they check the pet passport on the way back but going out they do nowt.

If you sit on a ride/train/seat, you are taking up the same amount of space if you are 1 or 100... its all just money making!

I find it annoying.

Colinandjess that does not make any sense... the 8 yr old will be in her own seat, not on my lap!
On babies and toddlers would sit on your lap.

Mind you, I know a child or two who thought they were adult at 12...
If they advertise a price for children then it should be for ALL children. National rail class under 16's as children.
Disneyworld class a 10 year old as an adult.
Ridiculous...
Could paedophiles cite the 'Disneyworld Defence'?
I find it annoying, too. You get a form asking how many children (under 14) and how many adults.... I often want to ring them and see why my 15 year old can't go.
