Im stuck back as far as Robert Harper 1885 born in Beverley. Yorkshire. He married Edith Mennell in 1904. Trying to trace back his parents is proving a problem as there are a few similar names and DOB. It is definitely NOT Robert G Harper as shown on 1901 census age 6, as he married someone totally diffrent. Without having to send for birth or marriage certs to find his parents, can anyhone help please. On 1901 census he is shown as servant/horsman in Kilnwick Beverley. and Ive got him on 1911 married to Edith. Thanks for any help

Have a look at the 1891 Census - if no joy than I would try to find his Birth Certificate.

There are 6 Robert Harper b Yorkshire 1884-1887.This one is the nearest geographically to Beverley on the 1891 census

Youlthorpe Hill, Youlthorpe with Gowthorp, Pocklington, Yorkshire, England

George Harper Head Married Male 35 1856 Agricultural Labourer Yorkshire
Elizabeth Harper Wife Married Female 35 1856 - Yorkshire
Annie E Harper Daughter - Female 10 1881 Scholar Yorkshire
Mary E Harper Daughter - Female 8 1883 Scholar Yorkshire
Robert Harper Son - Male 7 1884 Scholar Yorkshire
James Harper Son - Male 6 1885 - Yorkshire
George W Harper Son - Male 4 1887 - Yorkshire
John Harper Son - Male 2 1889 - Yorkshire
Ethel M Harper Daughter - Female 0 1891 - Yorkshire

The actual image says that Robert and younger siblings were born in Youlthorpe

Should have said mother Elizabeth b in Bishop Wilton. Father George born in what looks like Wilberfose. (Wilberforce?) Sorry, I'm not familiar with the area so spelling could be wrong. Hopefully it will mean more to you.

Thanks knittynora. Its same part of Yorkshire but not really near enough to be Beverley. I`ll take another look as the 1891 I was looking at was a Robert G Harper 1885 and on looking further he married an Annie ? I may have to go to Beverley Records office and check it out. Thanks for your help Mick and knittynora.
