Does anyone know of a reputable, honest company in North London that could give me a quote on the value of the Edwardian (1901 - 1910) fireplaces in my house?

I am thinking of removing the chimney breasts and hope that I can offset the cost by selling the fireplaces.

You need to look for salvage companies in your area - I can't help with your locality but you might do better trying to sell privately to someone restoring a similar house. I was paid £80 a few years back for an Edwardian basket fireplace (excluding the surround).
Can't hep with London area I'm afraid, Bigman. I guess you've checked these on Ebay...

Dealers won't give you the best price, as they have to turn them around for a profit. Do try advertising in the N.London press though.
