So, Liverpool and Barcelona have agreed a fee for this player.

Undoubtedly talented but....I wouldn't be surprised, had Bill Shankley still been in charge at Anfield, Suarez wouldn't have lasted long after the racist incident he was involved in 3 years ago.

The essence of a good deal is that both sides think they have a good deal.

For all their faults Scousers draw the line at biting people - on the futbol field anyway - and Barca dont
he'd already been found guilty of biting before liverpool bought him, i don't think bill shankly would have wanted him
.

in that case it would be possible to cost the loss in value

and call it the most expensive bit of shoulder on record!
Such a talented player, perhaps a gum shield may have helped him.
alas, BS is no longer around, good luck to all involved in this transfer,
Barcelona traditionally open the Nou Camp to their fans to present their new star signings - but they can't do that this time as Suarez is banned from entering any football ground.
Not so Blue Toffee:

Striker to give you 25 + goals a season...Shankley would have jumped at the chance and would have kept him.

Uruguay.........still love him.

Barcelona can't wait to start the season with him.

Does he score so many goals - because people run away from him ?
no peter.
For all their faults? What faults do Scousers have?
Yes Sqad, I agree Bill Shankley would have kept him on. It's been over the top media hype, there have been far more serious injuries done to other players in the past. I doubt L'pool will find anyone to match his skill.
Gordon Strachan hit the nail firmly on the head when he said "We have no morals in football." Scoring goals is all that matters and there are none better than Suarez in that department, whatever shirt he wears. And i think that even Bill SHANKLY (take note BT) would've turned a blind eye, before issuing one of his famous quotes; "If a player is not interfering with play or seeking to gain an advantage, then he should be."

We'll have to disagree squad, whirlyhurly and Ken4155, but of course, football was a whole lot different in BSs day.

Question Author
Sorry, should have said......agree to disagree!
Blue Toffee....;-)
Three hours in and nobody's said 'once bitten, twice shy'. :P
