We are doing work on the west coast of Scotland and are being eaten.Have tried Deet and Avon sss with little effect. They are attracted by scents/soaps and CO2...so short of not washing or breathing out we are stumped.Any ideas anyone?...hope they dont get to vote in September :-)

Lavender will keep midges at bay. Beat way to apply is roll-on stick.

Get some Canadian repellent called 'OFF'
There's also a product called SHOO, it's pretty good.
Available from fish tackle shops.
