I have 2 distant relatives that were awarded an OBE many years ago (over 30). These folks are no longer alive and I would like to find out what they were awarded these for as I have become interested in family history as a hobby. Is there a list or database I where I could find out about their OBE awards? I would be really grateful if anyone on here can help at all.

'who were awarded'

Yes, ok I'm guilty of bad grammar! I've seen much worse on here though. At least my spelling is reasonable and you can read and understand it. If everyone on here was worried about looking foolish through making grammatical errors there would not be many threads on here. I thought you might be posting something helpful like an answer, shame on you!!!!

Is there not a certificate that goes with the medal? With over 200,000 living members I would be surprised if there is a database of why they were awarded the honour. If there is I couldn't find it.

Don't worry about the pedants who moan about grammar, just don't use text speak.
