Reaction To Advantage Flea Treatment?

I applied some advantage flea treatment on the cat (on back of neck) on 8th may. Was giving him a little scratch just now and accidently caught what appeared to be a small scab - about the size of a 5p - in the same area. He flinched but didn't seem to be in pain but of course now he won't let me get close enough to have a proper look. He's also been eating grass the past couple of days and had been sick this morning but I'd just put that down to being a little too hot for him. He isn't off his food at all but he isn't drinking as much water as I'd expect him to in the warm weather.

Is it likely this could be related and caused by the advantage?

He has had it before (including last month) and I haven't noticed any negative effects any other time.

I have no idea about advantage but my dog suddenly became reactive to frontline spray after using it on him for two years, so it is possible for dogs (and people) to react to things that they had previously been fine with.
I did my sisters cat 2 weeks ago with the adantage, hers has done the same thing as yours, I use frontline spray on all nine of mine, and one of mine has started over grooming and going bold on the insides of her back legs, its definatly not flees, but I would like to know why as well, x
have either of you discussed this with your vet?
Yes I did on wednesday, was told to use bitter apple spray, which I thought was a bit mean, then, wash her in cat shampoo, as when the new fur comes through it will make her itch more, try to keep her cool, and if no change in 2 weeks 1mg prednisalone for a week, its either stress or hormones, even thoufh she is spade, I keep trying to distract her, also flee combed agin today, no fleas, any news on yours evian,
We always put a little granulated garlic in the dogs food and we haven't seen a flea on the dogs in years.
We stopped having this treatment for fleas used on our cats after the time one of them scratched all her fur from the area where it had been applied. It was only then that we'd realised that this had also happened to a lesser extent on our other cat. I don't allow it for any of them now
I would let the manufacturer know, it could be a dodgy batch - email them about it with the the batch number, etc.
