this was very good, if you didn't watch it, perhaps do a catch up,
thoroughly engrossing, with excellent performances and script

As an ex-copper and a tyke I found it pretty well true to life.

I watched it on the iplayer. I thought that the plot is very well written. If only the bad language could be toned down a bit, it would be more acceptable viewing for me. I see no need for that kind of dialogue, which adds nothing to the plot.

not sure i agree, this is supposed to be fairly true to life, well put together
Despite my comment regarding the bad language, I shall watch the following episodes, because it is simply an entertaining, and, as you say, emmie, thoroughly engrossing drama.

much better than say Broadchurch which had rave reviews,
Sally Wainwright of Scott and Bailey, and Last Tango in Halifax, so has some pedigree, i will watch the rest, i did think it one of the better things on tv of late
Question Author
didn;t see that
It certainly seems that, if Sally Wainwright's name is attached to a tv drama, that is a guarantee of good viewing.

Question Author
not sure that is the case, she has written some corkers, Scott and Bailey is one of my favourites.
Question Author
she is compelling, watchable, i loved the opening sequence of the lovelorn drunk bloke.
