Just need to vent my spleen!!! I sent a parcel with Collect plus couple of weeks ago. Now I have to say I have been using them on a weekly basis for some time now and have never needed to make a claim. However my parcel has vanished. I contacted them and told them it had not arrived and did not show as delivered on the tracking. They checked and agreed and sent me a claim form . Great I thought. Err no not so great filled t in and sent it back only to be told they would not pay me for losing my parcel as it contained a plate and they do not cover ceramics! Now i fully understand why they would not cover for breakages but loss I do not understand. I double checked and yes in their terms and conditions it says they do not carry ceramics (along with lots of other things) so they are not responsible for loss or damage. I was not a happy bunny. I know I should have read the small print but well no-ones perfect. I sad that as someone in their company had been grossly negligent in losing the parcel or dishonest in stealing it and I was a good customer perhaps they could reconsider. They just sent a copy of there terms and conditions. So now not only have I lost the £40 plate but also the carriage charge because even though "they do not carry ceramics" they do still charge you and do not refund you even if they do not deliver the item!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I will not be using them again as I sell ceramics!!!!!

Well, that's an unfortunate experience - but there's no point in getting so steamed up about it, if they clearly don't carry the item you mailed so would take no responsibility for it. Do you get the equivalent of Proof of Posting with this delivery service? Unfortunately, they are within their rights, even though they seem to have lost your package.

It is a tracked service so I always thought it was ideal. The other carrier services I have used Hermes, Parcel force, etc do not cover ceramics against damage but do cover loss so that is why I assumed this was the case with Collect + (I know I know assume makes an ass of u and me) Lesson learned but their inflexibility has lost them a customer. I have added up and I have sent 274 parcels with them in the last 12 months. So the loss of 1 is a good service but not if you have no cover for what you are sending. I have even paid extra on occasions to increase the level of cover as they only cover £50 so that was a bit of a waste wasn't it!
