Regardless of the sensationalist headline 'Eat pork or go hungry' (that is not what she said) or Marine Le Pen's politics, should UK schools follow her lead on the problem of special school meals to suit certain religious groups.

In my opinion, this reader has got it about right:

*** As much as you should respect people's religious beliefs you also should respect the beliefs of the country that you live in. European countries that have a high immigration rate are in danger of losing their identity because they have to be so politically correct. I support multiculturalism whole heartedly but when are we going to stand up for our beliefs and what makes a country ours? People are so afraid of being racist that they're scared to stand up for their own beliefs and values. Equality and respect is a good thing but where do we draw the line? ***

why should councils have a say in what shops are opened or not? and how can they support shops that no one want to use? Businesses survive if the get sufficient trade, if not, then not.
I sense that you are wanting a rant and will bounce from subject to subject to get one.
i don;t rant and i certainly wouldn't do it on here if i did;.
on this thread, you have gone from blaming in on Muslims that you only have halal butchers locally, to having no butchers at all, to blaming it on your local council that you have no local shops....
gosh almighty can no one expression an opinion without someone jumping down your throat. I merely said that most of the butchers i see now only do halal, that means no porks products and a method of dispatch if its true that goes against our supposed humane method of slaughtering animals.
The councils are losing businesses because of high rents/rates, many were long term established often family enterprises, now it's chain after chain, like Tesco's.

Most definitely not.
In the 1940 you eat what you were given or went hungary till the next meal the result I eat any think all religions should learn from this and they would not be the problems they have got
Not if you were jewish or muslim, you didn't!, or if you were vegetarian, or if you had allergies.
