Tell them what your weaknesses used to be and then tell them what you've done about it. e.g.: "I hope that I've not got any major weaknesses. A few years ago I probably wasn't as good at listening as I was at talking, but I've consciously worked on that and I believe that I'm now a far stronger team player because of it"

the truth?
Refer to weaknesses which could also be strengths- put others before yourself, that sort of thing

factor the BS detector would be beeping before you got to the second word of that...its not just BS, its annoying BS.
ooo Chris beep beep beep
Well it always worked for me, although I think adding in quite a bit of what Buenchico suggests is even better
Have. you got any suggestions as to what you would do then woofgang?
Along the lines of Chris but perhaps a bit more honest I'd say I don't have any weaknesses but do have some areas where I recognize I'd benefit from a development opportunity (eg running a large team, presentations, mentoring etc). It very much depends what type of job it was. A managerial role would require a different approach to a till operator for example

Thanks for your answers guys :)

It is for a team managing role
as I said...the truth.
Being a perfectionist & liking a job to be done correctly. Buenchico's answer is probably best though. I shall remember that one!
I would say my weakness is taking too many things on (as I have 5 job roles), how also see this as a positive as I like the idea of continuous personal development and I have conquered my time management skills so it does not affect the quality of my work
soapnumpty - that is the most common cliche - and worst one - that people say to try to make a weakness also a positive ... and it fools no-one
