Following on from CJHorse's thread below - what have you spent hours on that you will never get back?

We sat down a couple of Christmases ago with all the family to watch the much-vaunted 'It's A Wonderful Life' - I loathed it! It was loud, fast, with shouted stilted dialogue, clunky editing, and a mawkish payoff. Ugh!

Similarly - same venue and time of year - 'South Pacific' - what drugs were they taking! It's pseufo homo-erotic dance routines with shirtless sailors rejoicing that they 'ain't got dames ...' and some weird eastern individual Bali Hai'ing all over the shop - never again.

And finally, to be polite while staying with my S-I-L, I put myself through an episode of 'Miranda' - therapy is really expensive, but still better than the sticking of cocktail sticks through my retinas to avoid the faintest hope of ever seeing that absurd woman ever again.

Over to you ...

Avatar. I wanted to walk out. I was gutted when it ended and I found out my OH felt the same.
All those Programmes/Films were OK decades ago when they were released.
However, time moves on and they seem terribly dated today i.e Corny and badly Scripted when compared to the Films and modern Programmes available today, good or bad, whatever your taste !! :-))
Master and Commander, AI, Twelve Monkeys, The Fifth Element, anything with Jim Carrey in.
what have you spent hours on that you will never get back?

Thelma and Louise.
Just couldn't see anything remotely of interest with two daft women who go round getting themselves in bother.
Gone with the Wind - what a load of drivel!
I won a competition to a evening of ( Spanish flemenco dancing .) longest first half act of any thing I had ever seen . Needles to say we didn’t go back to see the second act.
That rubbish French thing about people coming back from the dead (The Return???) Bored me to death, but I kept watching in case it finally made sense - never did !
The Truman Show
flamenco dancing - try again when you go to Granada if ever ( that would be Thpain and not Manchester ) at the Corral de Carbon

proper stuff

Man who fell to the sea ?
with these things it is always useful to take knitting with you and have a mattress in the back of a car
The Railwayman with Colin Firth, it was so brutal I was watching it through my fingers.
Titanic, I spent the time saying For God's sake, sink.
Any episode of Only Fools and Horses, the most over-rated thing ever. Did anyone not expect the chandelier to fall? All utterly predictable.
Unforgiven, I spent the time in the foyer talking to the girl selling tickets.
Cloud Atlas, after nearly three hours of watching a movie I like to have some idea of what was going on, not so with this movie.
Zombie films. They gave me nightmares.
12 Years a Slave-everyone else raves about it, I was bored rigid and wanted to leave.
