TV Theme Tune

"The Magic Trumpet" is a tune recorded by Herb Alpert on his "What Now My Love" album,but it is also the theme tune to a TV programme of the 70's i think, i've a hunch it was either a sports show, a quiz show (sports quiz maybe?) or a popular science show but i could be wrong, any ideas?

This has been bugging you for a while, hasn't it surreyman? Me too, I'm almost there until the whistle blows in and I lose my train of thought....

For future reference if there is anybody else sad enough to want to know the answer is "Young Scientist of the Year" which i found out with the help of a few other people on another website.
