I would suspect a fault with the phone, rather than battery or charger.

Although the phone is indicating a rapid loss of charge, is this indication correct? If you continue to use the phone, does it switch off due to a flat battery? With such a rapid discharge, the battery should become quite warm to the touch.

If you can access another Galaxy Note, after charging the battery in your phone – transfer it to the other phone and see if it discharges quickly. Also place the battery from the other phone in your phone and see if it discharges quickly.

With access to a second Galaxy Note, there are a number of tests you can conduct that would assist in narrowing the fault – you just need to use a bit of logic.
I've got a Galaxy S3 and recently mine was the same - I found that by turning off some of the functions (including the ones which make knock transfers available, and location finder, etc.) it has put less drain on the battery. I don't need those functions, anyway!
Has this just started recently? In the last couple of weeks my Galaxy S3 has started draining as quickly as yours after being fine for the previous 18 months. Makes me wonder if an update is responsible.
Check that bluetooth and GPS is turned off. These use a lot of power and will drain a battery fairly quickly. You should turn them on only when needed.
Bibble, have a look at my earlier thread http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Technology/Question1296547.html

I found that Bluetooth was enabled, too, as chrisgel suggests - I've turned that off, too!

I was alerted to an upgrade about a fortnight ago - now I think of it, that's when this started happening.....
I've looked at your previous question, boxtops, and I don't have NFC turned on. What I've done just today is uninstall almost all apps and things have improved. I realise that is not a realistic option for most people; however, it's ok for me because I'm paying a fortune for something that I don't use much (and so can't wait for the contract to end next year when I shall go back to pay-as-you-go).
:-) I don't use much of the available stuff, either!
I've downloaded this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.easy.battery.saver It does seem to extend the life of my battery. I have a samsung Galaxy S3 and it appeared to go downhill after the upgrade. Turning the screen on is slower too. There appears to be a few bugs with this upgrade, I'm hoping there are some fixes soon.
Hi everyone, we've just found this on t'internet - well, I never! Watch out for developments! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-25265889
When I found that I was having to charge my Blackberry Curve 9320 every other day, I realized that the house cordless phones are designed to be constantly on charge so I have been charging my cell phone every night for months with no adverse effects & of course it is now always charged up.

WR.
Yes, all most all the smart phone in the market drain battery very crazy, I suggest you to install a battery management APP, or get an external battery.
