Brought a washing machine from appliances online, as mine had broken down yet again. Loads of washing everywhere as I have a lot living at home with me. Anyway, paid extra for delivery time slot, reconnection, disconnection and taking away my old machine.

Well there was a problem, he first said the kitchen had been built around the washing machine, (which it hadnt) then said he had fitted it best he could, but I really needed a whole cut in my kitchen cupboard as the tube wasnt fitting very well and there was a drip. It was only a slight drip, but I needed a whole cut in my cupboard for the tube to go threw. I could use the machine, but would have to make sure I caught the drips in a container.

Anyway, he had a unpleasant manner from first to last (not friendly) - dare I suggest he should take the machine away !!! When I got home from the school run - it is dripping so badly I have had to turn the water connection off altogether.

I cant use it at all, and I have had two other machines fitted in the exact spot with absolutely no problem at all. The kitchen was done about 10 years ago.

What should I do now ? I dont feel very happy at all. What would you do ? Ps havent got a handy hubby who can cut the whole in the cupboard and then reconnect the new machine - thats why I paid to get it done in the first place.

Complain to AO. Phone them now. I have had three things off them now and been very happy with the service and I am sure that they wouldn't want their excellent rep to be damaged.
Complain to AO. They have an excellent reputation, yours is the first negative comment I've heard about them. You may have got a bad technician on a bad day - they need to know.

But should I say I dont want to pay a connection fee, as it isnt usable, or say they can come and collect it.
Ring and tell them your probbl and see what they suggest.

Neither. Just tell them to come back and fit it properly! Phone 0844 324 9222 right now. (They're open until 10pm).

The chap was saying it was my kitchen's fault that it could not be fitted. So how do I get round that one?
Just ring, say you are disappointed as you have heard such brilliant things about them. Don't take their guff, ring now!

Simply tell AO.com that you've paid for proper fitting and that you've previously had washing machines fitted in exactly the same position without any problems.

Just because someone says that it's your kitchen that's at fault doesn't make it true!!!
Ring them , the customer service there is usually great , they may send someone different out to have a look , but you wont know until you contact them
Poor workmen blame their tools.....or kitchen ! Just phone and explain..

Well spent nearly all evening on the phone to Appliances Online, being passed from person to person. They eventually agreed they would pay for someone to come out and cut a hole into my cupboard and fit the washing machine hose through the hole. Whatever the cost, I should send the invoice to them and they would pay it.

So today a very nice man from Checkatrade.com came out - no hole needed to be cut at all. The washer was put on wrong by the AO man and the chap from Checkatrade sorted it out in just a few minutes for £20.

No impressed with AO at all
Glad to hear that the washing machine was finally installed properly by someone who knew what they were doing. Piles of dirty laundry everywhere is no fun.
Bill AO for the chekatrade man.
"The kitchen's fault".

Now I've heard it all - astonishing statement.
